Es el primer tema de Ellie Goulding en este año 2020 tras los recientes lanzamientos "Sixteen", "Close To Me" Y "Hate Me", además de su reciente versión del tema de Joni Mitchell, "River", que le valió su tercer #1 en Gran Bretaña.
En el nuevo single Goulding se ha asociado al aclamado Blackbear que saltó a la fama en 2015 y desde entonces ha lanzado 5 álbumes en los últimos 5 años, además de componer y producir para un número de artistas increíbles. "Worry About Me" es un ejemplo de pop en verdadera y demostrable evolución. Esto sin contar con el toque rap de Blackbear.

Ellie noa ha dicho que : “’Worry About Me’ es una canción que compuse sobre una época en la que un chico me quería cuando le convenía y yo lo superaba. Es intencionadamente irónico porque no todo era amargura, a mi me parecía cómico. Resultaba refrescante escribir al sol de LA, porque entonces estaba componiendo temas oscuros sobre mi estado de ánimo en New York”.
Por su parte, Blackbear desvela que es “una canción con un mensaje pasivo, y a la vez gráfico, de carisma, de independencia y actitud.Me encanta esta faceta de Ellie Goulding, con este tempo y una producción hip hop más oscura. Ellie, para mi, es la voz de Gran Bretaña, es un ser humano y una artista especial".
